Sydoney Banks (00:00.728)
Hello everybody and welcome to Horror Galore Podcast. And today we are going to be talking about
holiday displays and attractions throughout Arizona right now. So if you go to USAhauntsearch.com or USAholidaysearch.com right now, you can go and see a holiday map that shows you different attractions and different displays and stuff for the holidays. And it is absolutely free. All you have to do is go to that website and check out the map.
Now the USA Haunt Search one
Sydoney Banks (00:43.426)
is for all over the United States. So if you have a display or a traction or you know somebody that does and you're not on there, you can always message us and we will put you on. That also stands for next year. Now, we're going to be talking about Halizona, which also has a holiday map, but it is all about Arizona. Now, if you go to H-A-L-L-O-Z-O-N-A dot com,
you can check out the holiday map there and see all the different holiday displays, attractions, and whatnot that is in Arizona. So we're going to go through and talk about a couple. We've been trying to go to as many as we can, but we're going to go ahead and talk about a couple that we've been to and what we've seen and what we've liked and whatnot.
Another place that you can go is Phoenix New Times. You can look at Phoenix New Times and they have the best Christmas lights in Phoenix, Arizona for 2024. You can also do that too, but we're going to go ahead and go off of that. And also what is on USA Haunt Search's website. And like I said, it's a free map. It's really cool. You can pull it up on your phone.
And it even shows you like all the lights that are nearby. So you could pick a certain area if you live in an area and try to hit as many lights as possible. Like I said, we did use the map and I will tell you it is so awesome because you don't have to look it up or anything. It's all right there and you can go from house to house, literally hitting as many houses as you can. So one of the ones we're going to talk about is Winter Wonderland in Phoenix.
and the address is 4237 W State Ave and it's by a guy named David and he does a holiday display and it is inside of his whole exterior and interior of his house. Yes, you got that right. He decorates in and outside of his house. When I say inside of his house, I mean literally
Sydoney Banks (02:54.126)
Inside his house of every room from the bathroom to the kitchen to the bedroom To the living room to the dining room you met you name it It's in there and you can actually go and check out the outside and then you can go and look on the inside and he lets people go into his house It's kind of a little path and he'll you know, you know where to go and it's a one-way but you can literally walk in and see every room kind of has a theme and
It is absolutely crazy that he literally has so many Christmas ornaments and miniatures and lights and trees and collectibles. It's insane. And it is so cool. It is very heartfelt as you're walking through and you really think about it and you're like, this is somebody's house and that they literally open it up.
the public, to the community to walk through and to go through and see it. So that is amazing. Really great. Wonderful. It's so much fun. We happen to go on not a busy night. I can't imagine what it's going to be like as it gets closer and as it gets busier, but that is a must see. And again, the address is 4237 W and then S T A T E A V E State Avenue.
Now the next one we're going to talk about is a residence and it is 7734 North 41st Avenue. I like to call it the South Park House because that's literally what it is. So it is a South Park themed Christmas display and over 80 characters and you get to see your beloved
South Park characters. I don't know a whole lot about South Park and the names or anything, but if you're into South Park, that is a really fun house to see. And then not too far from that is the Redneck Christmas. Now, this one's really interesting because it's all Redneck themed and as you drive by you can even hear music playing that is themed Redneck Christmas. And that is 3353 North.
Sydoney Banks (05:17.23)
I'm sorry, no no no no no no! It's 3353 W North View Avenue. And again, tons of lights, over a hundred inflatables, and very cool appearances of different characters and stuff. It is a lot of fun and you're not gonna want to miss it. They also have special characters that appear on Fridays and Saturdays leading up to Christmas.
And again, if you go to USA Haunt Search, you can find Halizona, or you can go to Halizona and check all the information out. It'll tell you the times are open and a little bit more about this. Now the next one I'm going to talk about is probably one of my favorites because it is also kind of horror Halloween feeling. And it is truly unique and you can tell that it was
probably D.Y.I. and a lot of heart and soul went into it. It's Pirate Lights on Lori Lane. And that address is 4552 W Lori Lane, Glendale. Now, this is pirate themed, why it's in the name Pirates on Lori Lane. And so it's a pirate themed Christmas attraction or display. I would say attraction because they also have a bouncy house.
And they have a selfie station where you can go and take a picture of you on a ship, you know, steering it. But let me tell you, it is so cool. You can actually kind of walk around and kind of look at this display. You can even kind of go up to the house. And again, you see pirates and, you know, different characters. A lot of really cool stuff. I mean, this was hands down, probably one of my favorites, really creative, different outside the box, not your average.
Christmas that you see all the time. So I really, really, really like this one. This one is a lot of fun and very cool.
Sydoney Banks (07:25.122)
The next one is the Cox residence and that is 2 it is 4827 W Osborne Road. Now they have a really cute picket white fence that goes all around it and they have Santa and Mrs. Claus and they have a manger and some very pretty decorations in their house in their yard. They also have where you can write letters to Santa.
And they even have a reindeer. And it's really- that one's really cute. Again, very well done, a lot of fun, and totally something that you will not forget. And that is really cool. Next I have Levine Christmas House. And this one is 8211 S 83rd Avenue Levine. Now this one again is a D.Y.I. made themselves.
They say they have over 300,000 lights and then 475 cutout cartoons and comic book characters. Now, they, I believe, handed them. If you go up, because you can't actually walk around the display, you can drive through, you can drive around it or walk in it. There is actually parking. A lot of people, I think, didn't see the sign, but there is some parking area.
And you can park and get out and actually look and take photos with the different cutouts and stuff, but they have characters from like Gumby to Legos to the Princesses to Disney to you name it, they have it. And it looks like they're actually cut out a cardboard and painted. So it's really quite breathtaking the amount of work and dedication and how unique this display is, how they light things up in the lights and the different things that they use in the materials.
They have like Angry Birds, they have, you know, the princesses, they have Clifford the Big Red Dog. They have so many characters. It is so cool to see. And let's see, I have to kind of go through my list here. There's also the scary Christmas house. We haven't gone to it this year, but I highly suggest it. It's always really, really awesome. And again, it's Christmas. It's Nightmare Before Christmas themed.
Sydoney Banks (09:45.678)
And that is 4431 W-E-S-C-U-D-A Drive Glendale. And you can find all of these on HallowZona. So yeah, Jack Scalington tribute, Nightmare Before Christmas, lots of lights, really pretty, a lot of fun to see. And then...
to see here. Like I said, there's so many and I have to go through the list and see what there is.
There's a lot.
So.
Sydoney Banks (10:25.822)
Old gaming dream come true North of... I mean like another one is Glendale Glitters and that's in Old Town Glendale and you can go to that and check it out Glendale Glitters has been around for many many years and again it's a lot of fun it's not as cool as it used to be when they had the huge stage and they did shows and stuff all the time but it still is cool they do have lights and you can go and check it out and see different
know, displays and take photos and they have vendors and some nights they have shows and different things. And the next one is Moon Valley 12 Homes of Christmas. Moon Valley neighborhood. And the residents all around the neighborhood put up Christmas lights and they do 12 Homes of Christmas, which is kind of like their awards. They give 12 different awards away for the people who have the best displays and whatnot. You can go to app.moonvalley.org.
and they'll talk about more about that. There's also the Brickett Family Winter Wonderland. We haven't gone this year, but again, this is another one that I highly recommend everybody go to. It's a really, really good one. It's very festive, very fun, and that address is 8-4-1-4 East Valley Vista Drive Scottsdale. Again, a really, really cool one.
Yeah, let's see. I know there's more that we want to, like I said, I just have to literally go through your list. And I try not to edit this podcast as much as possible because I want it to be as realistic and as authentic as possible. The next one is Christmas on the Milky Way. This one is amazing. I absolute- this is hands down my favorite, favorite, favorite display this year.
So Christmas on the Milky Way is a light display that dances to music and the address is 4606W Milky Way Chandler. Now, my goodness, the music choice and the lights and the setup and how they do it is amazing. I love it a lot. It says it features over 1000 or wait no.
Sydoney Banks (12:52.462)
It features over 150,000 lights and 25 LED stars on top of the house. Sadly when we went half of the roof wasn't on so I bet it would even be cooler if the actual whole entire thing was working. There's several leaping arches and a 45 foot tree. And one of the things that
really really is awesome about it is how they do it but the song choices and the show itself. They had the Greatest Showman song and if you know me you know I love that movie. When that one came on I could not help but try to like hold back tears. It was it was that good. It was so good. I loved it so much and it was a lot of fun. The next one is A-R-C-A-D-I-A Christmas House.
And this one is actually more than one. So he decorates his house and then he decorates his two neighbors around him. And this one is 4415 E-s-a-c-a-l-l-e-t-u-b-e-r-i-a. And again, you can find all of these on the website, which is probably a whole lot better than me, you know, trying to spell it and tell you.
That one was really good, very festive. It wasn't as, I guess, big as I was hoping, but it was still really cute and I really enjoyed it. And then we have the Candy Cane Avenue, which is a... it's from 26th to 28th Street, Streets, and it transforms into a walkable or drivable holiday.
walk and there's candy canes that are on each of the neighbors who are a part of it. And again it is 2801 E P IN CHOT Avenue. Like I said this one's pretty good again I wish there was a little bit more lights they do have a really pretty peace symbol that completes the scene and it's very pretty but it's
Sydoney Banks (15:19.918)
It's okay, it's not as awesome as I was hoping it would be. Kind of along with the 12, the Moon Valley neighborhood, I was hoping it would be a little bit more better than it was. So those two are little disappointing, but it's still Christmas lights, it was free. I'm not gonna complain, it was good. So, head to Hallowzona.com if you live in Arizona and you can find all of these amazing free-
holiday displays, which is great to take if you have a lot of family members or friends, you know, pack your car and go and hit as many as you can. It's a lot of fun, great photo opportunities and just something that is affordable because you know, you're maybe just paying for gas and something that your whole family can enjoy and do. And it's something that I've done ever since I was a really small kid. My family's always
went and looked at Christmas lights even when we lived in New Mexico that's something that we would do we'd all get in the car and we'd go and look at different neighborhoods and just look at Christmas lights. So that's something that you can do that is festive and fun. I highly suggest doing it you know before it gets to Christmas the sooner the better and there's a lot of light displays and if you or you know somebody in Arizona that has a light display
or a attraction and would like for us to add you to the map it costs absolutely nothing all you have to do is go to H-A-L-L-O-Z-O-N-A dot com and send us your information and we will add you to our map and trust me if you have a display up and you put all that hard work into it you want people to see it so make sure that you add yourself to our map so we're also
As it gets closer to New Years we'll be putting out awards that we've given. It will be USA Haunt Search and Halizona for different things. We're gonna give out some awards over the computer so you can add it to your websites and stuff and be like, hey look we won most festive or best DIY attraction and display. So that's something also you might want to keep an eye out. We'll also do a podcast about it and talk about the winners.
Sydoney Banks (17:45.986)
the different attractions and why they won. But there are some really good ones that I highly suggest going and seeing and making memories with your family. You never know when it might be their last or even friends, so always make sure that you take those opportunities to really enjoy the company of each other and making memories that will last forever, even when that person moves on or is no longer with you.
So that's today's podcast. I just wanted to go over a couple of the different holiday, you know, displays that you can do around Arizona. There is also USA Haunt Search. There isn't as much in that one because I don't live outside of Arizona. So I really count on others or research that I have to go look for to add to that one. I'm hoping I'll take off more and more as we go. So.
Again, if you don't live in Arizona and you have a display or an attraction, please just send it to USAhauntsearch.com or right now it's- or you can go to USAholidayssearch.com and it's the same website. Well, we hope you have a very festive and happy, happy, holidays and we will be doing some more podcasts here soon. have, like I said, we're going to be doing one on the awards of the different displays and attractions that won.
We'll be doing a review on Mill of Holiday Cheer, aka Mill of Madness and their attraction. And maybe some more attractions if we're able to hit them before the season. But right now we're into full gear of getting ready for Mill of Holiday Cheer. So, thank you and happy holidays. Until next time, remember, every day is Halloween. Until next time, y'all. Thank you so much for listening.
and have a wonderful day.
